Defend Public Education!

We won't let Donald Trump and his billionaire nominee for Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, dismantle our public schools! And we must push the Maryland legislature for increased investment in public education as, over the next year, it updates the state's funding formula for local schools.

RSVP for January 19

This is a national day of action. Communities United joins with the American Federation of Teachers-MD, the ACLU of MD, the Center for Popular Democracy, the Baltimore AFL-CIO, Working Families and people in local schools across the country under the banner . . .

We stand together—teachers, parents, students and communities—to demand investment, not neglect. We need an end to the school-to-prison-pipeline. We need to build sustainable community schools that are neighborhood centers of support and learning. We are coming together to protect the things we care about and fight for what we want.
